Boy, some folks just LOVE shooting themselves in the foot, don't they?
Below, I have cited but a few of the more glaring examples of corporate stupidity at its worst, not that SONY are the only ones but they sure have made some AMAZINGLY spectacular blunders. I don't think it could be pinned on one person in particular, but it sure is a graphic example of the idea of that it really does take a village to raise an idiot (and an idiot to raze a village). I actually remember a time when SONY actually used to be a company that created fun and even useful electronic gadgets (like the groundbreaking Walkman etc). Somewhere along the way, SONY got more than a little power-hungry and seemed to shift it's emphasis to controlling and dominating all known forms of media. I wonder if they got a chip on their shoulder from the failure of the BETA-MAX videotape format back in the 80's. Ever since then, they've thrown ALL semblance of ethics and decency completely out the window and continued to presume that ALL of it's customers are criminals. Well, one thing they need to ask themselves, "Has Sony In The Last 20 Years Made A Product or Released a Movie/Album That Was Worth Stealing To Begin With?" Judging by the prodigious output of vacuous sewage like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, any one of Sony's movies and utterly MEDIOCRE quality and overpriced electronics products in general, I dare say NO BLEEPING WAY!
1. Fake Movie Reviews (Sony Pictures Division): Sony Pictures thought it could pull a fast one by writing fake glowing reviews for its own movies; attribute those reviews to obscure newspapers that not many have heard of. Sony Sneakily Putting Rootkit Spyware on 30 CD’s Released in late 2005, This Spyware Would Install Itself On Your PC Without You Knowing It, So That The Good Folks At Sony Could Spy On You And See If You Were Copying Their CD’s. Of Course, This Made Your PC Vulnerable To Hackers, Crashed Your System Etc. Sony Got OWNED on This One Too (in BLATANT violation of Federal malware statutes):
